Customer facing business owners like you should stop selling and get people to buy more.

I’ve recently been made aware of a system that has been imported from the states (isn’t it always?) that turns the whole idea of selling on its head.  The first seminar of its kind is happening on Wednesday 26th May 2010 at the Holiday Inn on junction 33 of the M1.  The seminar is aimed at owner managers and customer facing staff of service orientated businesses and should last about 90 minutes.

This one-off introductory priced seminar is only £25+VAT but the seminar provider has a few more planned for next month, the only catch is that they will then be priced at £55+VAT.  I think once this seminar gets known then it will sell like hotcakes, so get ahead of the crowd and book for Wednesday, I know there isn’t much notice but for £25 and a couple of hours of your time it could be very worthwhile.

Want to help me with my book?

I’m hoping you’ll be able to help me please.  I’m planning on writing a book full of business tips that have been supplied by people that run businesses.  The idea is that your experiences will be useful to other people in business.

I know I could fill a book myself but it would make the book much more interesting if my clients and colleagues supplied the top tips.  The sort of thing I’m after might be something like how to save money on printing costs from a printer or how you managed to get your invoices paid on time, practically anything really but if it improves profits, efficiency or cuts costs then it will be ideal.  If you did something different that left a lasting impression that you thought helped you in business then that’s the type of thing I’m after.

Each contribution in the book will be accompanied by your name, your business name and your website.  I can’t guarantee that it will bring you in any business but it certainly can’t hurt. 

I’d also like to add that the profits from the book will go towards charity, probably shared between one national charity and one local one so as well as helping me you’d be helping charity and helping the future readers of the book.

Don’t take their word for it.

I’ve just had a text from somebody warning me that if somebody calls my mobile and tells me to press certain numbers that they’ll be able to get information from my SIM card, hotwire my car and steal my first born. 

Fortunately, it’s simply not true.  Like a lot of these emails and texts that circulate, they are completely bogus.  Unfortunately, most people are so worried that they just pass these on without checking up on them.  I always check on them and so far every single one has been false.  From missing children to computer viruses and petitions from armed forces personnel claiming that Starbucks is anti-patriotic, they are without substance and should be deleted.

My advice is to add this address to your favourites and then the next time you receive a warning, check it out for yourself and then decide whether you want to pass it on.
